Homemade Acne Cream Gel

My girls are constantly asking me what they can do to get rid of acne. I tell them all the time that they should count their blessings because they really don't have a severe acne problem like some teenagers do. They have hormonal acne that comes around the same time every month. But, it can still be frustrating at any cause and concealer just doesn't cover some of them. My daughter had a painful one just underneath her nose one day and I grabbed my bottle of tea tree oil and told her to dab some on it. The next day it was dried up.

Tea tree oil (Melaleuca ) has powerful antibacterial  and anti-fungal properties and is effective against MRSA, which is a strain of bacteria that has developed resistance to some man-made antibiotics. The bacteria in acne can also become immune to the effects of the creams and gels used for acne treatment. Tea Tree Oil will kill the bacteria that is inside a  pimple and prevent it from getting bigger and spreading. Even though my daughter put straight tea tree oil on her acne you really aren't suppose to do that. The skin CAN become sensitive to the tea tree oil when used directly.

Aloe Vera has been used for years and years for minor burns, cuts and scrapes. 100% Aloe Vera has certain properties that help to stimulate skin regrowth and repair. It is also anti-inflammatory, so it helps soothe redness.  Aloe Vera can speed up repair for wounds and for popped pimples. After all a popped pimple is an open wound. So using Aloe Vera and adding Tea Tree oil makes a great acne fighting cream gel.

It's best to make this homemade acne cream gel recipe in small amounts.

I had a 2 oz container and filled it half way with Aloe Gel. Then I added 12 drops of Tea Tree Oil and mixed it around. It ended up in a creamy gel consistency. Works great used with my homemade facial cleansing pads for oily skin. So now the girls are ready to zap those pimples away with my homemade acne gel treatment!
